    Native Tree Mixes

Curated sets for garden and woodland planting

Our Native Tree Mixes bring together carefully selected Irish native trees to make planting simple, thoughtful, and impactful. Each mix is designed to suit different spaces and planting goals — from managed garden planting to more natural woodland-style schemes.

These curated combinations take the guesswork out of choosing individual species, balancing seasonal interest, wildlife value, and long-term growth. Planted with space and allowed to grow naturally, native trees provide blossom, shade, shelter, and fruit throughout the year, supporting birds, pollinators, and wider biodiversity.

All trees are supplied as bare-root plants and include clear planting and aftercare guidance, making them an ideal choice for gardeners, landowners, and community planting projects looking to plant native with confidence.

Trees or hedging - what’s the difference?

Many native Irish species can be grown either as trees or as hedging, depending on how they are planted and managed.

    • Hedging is created by planting trees and shrubs closely together and managing them through regular pruning. This creates a dense, lower boundary ideal for privacy, shelter, and wildlife corridors.

    • Trees are planted with more space and allowed to grow naturally, forming individual features, garden woodlands, or avenues over time.

Species such as hawthorn, hazel, rowan, crab apple and wild cherry are commonly used in both ways. The key difference is spacing and aftercare, not the species itself.

Our mixes and individual plants are clearly labelled to help you choose the option that best suits your space and goals.
