Each Garden Bird Starter Bundle includes the following core components, selected to suit the bird species you choose:
- 1 × Wooden nest box
A species-appropriate nest box designed to provide safe, sheltered nesting space. - 1 × Bird feeder
Either a stainless steel seed silo feeder or a fat ball feeder, depending on the species selected. - Bird food
2kg bag of wild bird seed (for seed feeder bundles), or
25 fat balls (without nets) (for fat ball feeder bundles)
All components are chosen to work together, giving garden birds the right combination of shelter and food to support them throughout the year. Exact contents vary slightly by species to reflect natural nesting and feeding behaviour.
Buying as a bundle offers better value than purchasing each item individually, while ensuring everything is correctly matched for the bird species you choose.
Each bundle is tailored to the natural nesting and feeding habits of the bird you select. Simply choose the species you’d like to support, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Blue Tit & Great Tit
These familiar garden birds readily use nest boxes and tube feeders. Their bundles include a seed silo feeder and high-energy seed, ideal for supporting adults and chicks during the breeding season.
House Sparrow
A sociable species that benefits from shared nesting spaces. The sparrow bundle includes a terrace-style nest box and a varied seed mix to suit their broad diet.
Robin
Robins prefer open-front nesting sites and soft food. This bundle includes a fat ball feeder, providing an accessible source of energy, particularly in colder months and during breeding.
Wren
Wrens mainly feed on insects found naturally in gardens. Their bundle includes a sheltered nest box and fat balls to offer extra energy when food is scarce.
You can personalise your bundle with a small selection of practical and educational extras:
- Pocket Guide to the Common Birds of Ireland
A compact, beginner-friendly guide to help identify birds visiting your garden. - Seed scoop & funnel (seed feeder bundles only)
Makes refilling feeders quick, clean and spill-free. - Silo cleaning brush (seed feeder bundles only)
Helps keep feeders clean and hygienic for visiting birds.
Add-ons are offered at checkout and may vary depending on the feeder included in your chosen bundle.
- Seasonality matters
Garden birds use nest boxes mainly in spring and summer, but feeders and food can be used year-round to provide consistent support. - Placement makes a difference
Nest boxes should be positioned out of direct sunlight and prevailing wind. Feeders are best placed where birds feel safe, with nearby cover. - Robins and wrens feed differently
These birds naturally forage for insects. The food included in their bundles provides additional energy, particularly during colder months and the breeding season. - A little care goes a long way
Regularly cleaning feeders and replacing old food helps keep visiting birds healthy.
