About the Authors
Oran O'Sullivan has worked for BirdWatch Ireland for fifteen years as a field surveyor, general manager and latterly as CEO. He has edited the Irish Bird Report and is current managing editor of Wings, the membership magazine of BirdWatch Ireland. He is also project manager of the 220-acre East Coast Nature Reserve at Newcastle, County Wicklow.
Jim Wilson is an independent wildlife writer, broadcaster and tour leader. He acts as a wildlife tour guide on small cruise ships specialising in the Polar regions. He is a former Chairman of BirdWatch Ireland and set up the long-running BirdWatch Ireland Garden Survey in 1987. He wrote A Guide to the Identification of the Whales and Dolphins of Ireland and co-authored (with Mark Carmody) Birdlife in Ireland, Shorebirds of Ireland, Freshwater Birds of Ireland, Shorebirds of Ireland and The Birds of Ireland – A Field Guide. For many years, he was a regular contributor to the Mooney Show on RTÉ Radio 1.
