Setting the Land Free: Visions of a Rewilded Ireland

What might a more nature-rich Ireland look like and how could we get there?

In Setting the Land Free, award-winning author and rewilder Eoghan Daltun travels across Ireland to meet people working on practical approaches to rewilding and ecological recovery.

From restoring bogs and regenerating native woodland to species reintroduction and rewilding at sea, Daltun explores a wide range of projects and ideas already being put into practice. His journey also takes him beyond Ireland to Scotland and Costa Rica, offering wider perspectives on how landscapes can change when greater space is given to natural processes.

Combining nature writing, travel and environmental thinking, Setting the Land Free examines both the challenges facing Ireland’s landscapes and the possibilities for a different future.

A thought-provoking read for anyone interested in Irish nature, conservation, land use and rewilding.
