Yellow Rattle Seed – Currently Out of Season
Our fresh 2025 Yellow Rattle seed is now sold out and this product is currently out of season.
Yellow Rattle must be sown fresh within a few months of harvest, so we do not carry over seed from the previous year. We expect fresh stock from the 2026 harvest from September 2026 onwards, depending on harvest timing and availability.
Often called the ‘meadow maker’ or ‘nature’s lawnmower’, Yellow Rattle is an annual hemiparasite wildflower that helps weaken vigorous grasses by attaching to their root systems. This reduces grass competition and gives other wildflower species a better chance to flourish. Perfect for pollinators, creating habitats and food for a wide range of bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
Yellow Rattle should be sown in autumn only, as it requires winter cold to support germination.
Recommended sowing rate: 0.5g–1.5g per sq. m
