Knapweed & Umbellifer-Rich Wildflowers for Beneficial Insects
Support the small creatures that help keep your garden in balance.
This carefully curated Irish-grown wildflower mix has been designed to provide forage for pollinators and beneficial insects, including hoverflies, lacewings, solitary bees, ladybirds and other natural garden allies.
The blend brings together nectar-rich Knapweed with umbellifers such as Wild Carrot and Wild Angelica - open, accessible flowers that are especially useful to many smaller insects. Yarrow, Selfheal and Oxeye Daisy add further diversity, while Corn Marigold provides colour and insect value in the first season.
This is not an instant-colour meadow mix. It is a functional, perennial-rich wildflower blend for people who want to support beneficial insects and create a more balanced, wildlife-friendly garden over time.
For best results, sow onto prepared, weed-free bare soil. Read our guide to preparing ground for wildflower seeds before you sow.
Allow the flowers to grow, flower and set seed, then cut and remove growth at the end of the season.
What to expect
Year 1
Corn Marigold provides the main colour in the first season, helping the mix feel active while the perennial species establish.
Year 2 onwards
Knapweed, Wild Carrot, Yarrow, Selfheal, Wild Angelica and Oxeye Daisy become more important, creating a richer, more insect-friendly wildflower area over time.
This mix should be judged on its biodiversity value and long-term function, not just first-year flower display.

Why choose this mix?
Choose this mix if you want to support beneficial insects and natural garden balance.
Unlike a general pollinator mix, this blend has been built around forage and function - with Knapweed, Wild Carrot, Wild Angelica, Yarrow and other native wildflowers chosen to provide food for pollinators, hoverflies and other useful insects through the growing season.
It is a slower, more purposeful mix for garden margins, wildlife strips and biodiversity areas where the aim is to create long-term insect value rather than a short burst of colour.
This small-batch mix has been created using seed from our Waterford-grown wildflower seed harvest, produced and packed by Connecting to Nature.
